New Software Release Enhances i turret Functionality
19th March 2010
Speakerbus’ third release of software for the i turret (V1.11) provides functional enhancements for users and Avaya Aura certification.
This upgrade enhances the handling of calls on the i turret by improving the user’s ability to manage high call flow with enhancement of dynamic keys and barge-in (conference) indication.
Dynamic keys previously provided a prioritised queue of incoming calls to the user. The enhancement now enables the dynamic keys to be programmed to monitor incoming and held calls selectively. When i turret users hold callers, these can now automatically be placed within a prioritised; held queue allowing other i turret users to retrieve these calls immediately. Customers already utilising this feature feel this has improved the call flow amongst their heaviest users.
Barge-in indication has been implemented using Avaya SIP messaging to provide i turret users and Avaya phone set users with a live count of the number of participants who are in conference or ‘barged’ on a line. This enables users to manage the call more effectively and make real time decisions on the use of the line privacy features on i turret.
Release v1.11 is the last planned release prior to the major enhancements arriving in V1.2 in the summer of 2010. John Graves – i turret Product Manager for Speakerbus stated ‘while we are continuing our strategic developments on the i series platform, these incremental enhancements provide valuable customer focussed capabilities in a timely manner and demonstrate our commitment to working in partnership with the i turret customer base’.
